  • P.O.P Mentoring Program ( Pre Owned Parts) The P.O.P mentoring program at Dare to Be Alive is based on looking at one's peers to learn from thier experiences. The mentors are patients who have already gone through transplantation. Knowing that others have survived the experience and are available to others may be helfull and reassuring. P.O.P. mentors provide peer support via e-mail, phone and in person they offer transplant information, help work with your transplant team and encourgament to stay active and healthy. Going through the transplant process can become stressfull you are not alone  and our program is confidential.
  • Social Support Group- SUPPORT GROUP IS ON HOLD FOR 2010 D/B/A meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA. This is a casual social gathering open to transplant recipients, donor families and any individual interested in organ donation. The current transplant news and topics will be discussed. All individuals are encouraged to discuss their transplant experience. For more details and to RSVP call the office at 508-398-1260
  • Speaking Engagements: D/B/A volunteers are available to speak at your schools, clubs and organization about the importance of organ donation free of charge. D/B/A volunteers can ad a personal touch to your speaking engagement by sharing thier experience in recieving an organ transplant.
  •  Financial Supports: Grants from D/B/A will be distributed to individuals who have received or are waiting to recieve and organ transpalnt and are in need of financial assistance for medical bills, dental bills and out of travel expense related to receiving and organ/ bone marrow transplant. Funds will be disturbed on a limited basis and after care full completion of our grant application. For more information on this program please call or e-mail the office of D/B/A directly.

Warren Wegele
DBA would like to thank all those who made a donation on behalf of Warren Wegele a heart transplant receipent from South Dennis, MA. Warren received his transplant in December of 1999 and passed away on October 21, 2009 at the age of 75.
 
Doug Michela

D/B/A Foundation Inc. has recenlty lost one of it's beloved members Doug Michela. Doug had waited six years to recieve his liver transplant and finally recieved it on Tuesday March 10, 2009 due to medical reasons Doug passed away on Friday March 13th.  He was onced asked if he was afraid to die and his relpy was "no, I've had a rock'n'life".  Doug , you will be missed by all: Rock on Doug Rock On!
